Jackson Pollock Experiments

Here is one of my Drip Paintings, first given to the Art World by Jackson Pollock. What do you think?
I have put a pencil on one side to show the size which is 6" X 12" inches. I really like what I have done and that I have accomplished 32 plus of these paintings. I am looking forward to doing the ones with enamel or oil paint in the same size and the watercolor ones. Jackson Pollock used house paint and enamels. His canvases were attached to boards with staples and had raw edges. I am looking forward to these next 32 plus "Drip Paintings".

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas Everyone! Well, here is another Christmas. This year has been wonderful in that it appears people are no longer afraid of "Political Polite Reference" to what is a very important time of the Year for all Christians and those that look for to a helping hand from Christmas Love. Over the phone nearly everyone has said Merry Christmas to me. I have heard nothing of any other term for the Holiday Season. No one has even mentioned the other Holidays or religious celebrations.
I am floored that I have not anything but "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays"!
It is wonderful to know that I can be very proud of my heritage upbringing and not be made ashamed to openly share my Joy of the this time of the year.
I have much to be thankful for: My eldest is home from Iraq. If they lost a soldier in their command I have not been told.
I know several were wounded and thankful more so than We, the extended family to welcome the "Battlefield hardened soldiers" home. It is with great sorrow to read published articles that state my Son and His men came "Under fire", small arms or heavy artillery". A very strange Read, for a parent. My youngest son is doing well - Apple is a superior company for employees. We are an iPhone family. I look forward to the day My Army son is part of the iPhone family.
My Father is of course incapacitated by a stroke. However, I am most thankful to the Lord that He did not kill anyone with His motor vehicle. It was a horrific accident. Here is the url - take a look, it is amazing what you get to see in this day and time.
http://www.lufkindailynews.com/news/content/news/stories/2007/12/01/wreck.html
Absolutely a miracle here. He has had another stroke since this awful wreck. I am told the left side of his brain is severely damaged. The only update I have is that He looks good for someone that has had two strokes.
Ms Patches, Our beloved kitty is doing well. She now has no limping from Her accident. Happen while We were out. Caused a Hefty medical bill. She is sitting at my feet telling me - You have typed enough on the computer. I have to be petted!

I am very thankful that I am in a wonderful apartment on the Cold North Atlantic. That I wake everyday to the sight and sound of the Sea! I smell the fresh Salt Sea Water year round. I am hoping to stay in this area for a long time to come.
May the Light of the World shine upon you All, May it enter into your Hearts and Share the Love of the Earth, Our Dear Home.

L

Hello! To Everyone: This is the time of the year that I have no time.
Wow! They had taken a small burden from me as I was walking to the next leg of my Bus and T and walking commute.
As, I entered the Great Front Doors of South Station, I thought of all the Delivery trucks I saw burdened by the snow and icy roads. I wondered why, anyone would call in to complain of any delay of a delivery.

Note on my Father: Last up date - He looks good for someone who has had 2 strokes. The second stroke was massive and did damage to the whole left side of His brain. That is all I know at this time.

My Sisters who took control of Our Father and took him to Texas, are now fighting over His care. It is now a mute point.
He has has another stroke and it is a bad one. His whole left side is in paralysis.

Father's Condition

Well! This is the load down on my Father's condition:

Carotid artery is completely blocked. #1 This means no surgery can be performed. {Someone explain why not?}

#2. If the blood thinners do not work-He is a ticking time bomb.
#3. Why is one of the most powerful Senators in the World, Senator Ted Kennedy, routine checked for these blockages and the
rest of the senior citizens are left out in the Cold? Including Veterans. Where is their justice?
#4. I was told my oldest sister is doing ok now.
#5. He is not going to be charged with motor vehicle violations. No, one was hurt physically from the crash.
He totaled two cars, His will not be replaced.

Most meaning full, I want to Graciously thank Everyone that has offered prayers and hope for the best.
All of you wonderful thoughts are always appreciated, I keep all of you in my Daily Thoughts.

Comedy & Drama of Life

k! This is your fault! I have bought a BOOK! A book by Melissa Marr-'Wicked Lovely". A Faery Book!
Not even signed by the author.
I will never forget purchasing this book. I was at Barnes & Noble- At Yawkey Way -Home to Fenway Park - The Green Monster - Boston University -Burton's Restaurant- Dick Blick Art supplies.
I left there with the book and a new Moleskin sketch book 5.25 by 8.25 inches-Black. I was happy heady to Dick Blick. I found the Water Color Board CP. Brought the pieces to the counter to be cut. When 'Crickets started Chirping in my Pocket', I was a little embarrassed. But there it was, a txt on my iPhone, view or cancel, from one of my estranged sisters. My Father, had a stroke and was driving. He hit a car, then lost all control and hit a house. I am told He is ok. I was just told yesterday that my Killaurin is on His way home from Iraq. I had to email Him of His GrandFather's accident and stroke. What an awful world that with all these electric gadgets, the Army cannot give a phone to use on His way home. I feel like a louse having to email this sad news to my son.
Ugh!

November- Last of Noel!

Well, I have heard nothing! My youngest son went to work and left his lunch. Take it to him Yes! or No! Not decided. The Last of Noel is coming ashore. The wind is blowing and I have to go a get some food. First have to bring up the last of the clothes.
Well, bought a couple of shirts for me. Shirts for the cold weather. Have not turned the heat on yet.
I have done 20 or so of my Jackson Pollock experimental pieces. They are all 6"x12". All are acrylic. You would be surprised at how hard this study is. I intend to do 32 of them in the acrylic and I am also doing 32 in a squares for Lee and Mercedes. The Pollock Matters show is just devine. It is so rich. There is a film with Calder making His Mobiles. There is a letter - something few of us will have to show in the next hundred years - heck probably the next fifty - they will not exist.
Just think no History in a house of a person you want to know more about. Absolutely nothing.
There is jewelry that Lee and Mercedes wore. All of the surviving pieces of the 32 found in Matters storage facility are on
display. I do not see the strength and power and torment of Jackson in them.
I am going back and taking some prints of mine.
I am promised that Gimp will be back online and running so I can upload photos. I cannot wait to share my experimental Jackson Pollocks bad, good or just paint on canvas. Looking forward to the next 32 which will be enamel paint on canvas and messonite board.

Last Package and Last Letter to Iraq!

Well, today I made the trip to the big post office. I took a box of goodies, I know will not come close to any care packages sent by anyone else. I guess I just have no sense of what they need on the front line. I sent Halloween suckers, and funny eggs with jelly beans, I am told these are not suppose to melt. I also sent pens, black, blue and colors. I sent some paper pads. Seems they need and like pens and paper. Then I sent myself, as a little bear with the MOM word, I also sent His DAD, and picked out
a Irish Bear as His Brother and found a Cat to go as the family Pet - Ms Patches, who is under my feet at the computer right now.
Oh yeah! I sent Pez and a letter.

My son is on his way home in about three weeks. God Speed us all Home.

I rec'd this from a friend in Georgia this morning, and felt I could share it with you. If I am out of line, please feel free to delete the thread, ok?

"Love This Comeback

One of my sons serve in the military. He is still stateside, here in California. He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and his troops, everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also.

But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way home from the base. He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha.

He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the U.S. flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock. The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly," Yes, I always wear it and probably always will."

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman:

"Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY country and accuse a check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today. But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly, I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid." Everyone within hearing distance cheered! "

IF YOU AGREE____ Pass this on to all your proud American friends.

I just did.

Depression

Well, I have had it up to Here!! More stories of Iraqi's sent out to terrorize us in Our on Homeland - Yep! The United States of America. I am printing this from a friend. However, I have experienced first hand. Can you believe it! My son home on R&R, will be back there the middle of August. Said, "Mom, those are women! They do what they are told to do."

Well, What does this Say to Me??? Any answers out there? Well, I will give you ONE! Where are their Chicken Yellow Belly lowlife Husbands or Pimps????? Where??? What are they doing?? What is there next plan??? If Americans are Persona non Grati in Iraq, and if they die it is ok, because they are foreigners-in Iraq. It is time to boot these scum bags back to Iraq. We will keep all the children born in America. Because those are American citicens by birth, therefore they cannot return to Iraq, do to being persona non grati, and openly ok to kill in Iraq, because they are American foreigners.

Well, my vacation with my son is over. He is getting on a plane to go to His Father. Mostly, He laid on the couch the whole time. He had a horrible rash on His upper leg. Bad enough to bleed. They were locked down for 24 hours and not allowed to bath before bordering their plane to the states. Horrible! The worst part. He did not want to eat. He had gained weight.

Family phone plan

Hi! I am just still spinning! But with delirium, as my eldest is in Baghdad waiting for His ride to a real airport.
I am probably the only parent in the world that is on their Son's phone plan.
Mind you the parent asked about this when He was still in college. My children had cell phones before I did. I thought I would never have one. Now, I am the proud owner, user, courtesy of my son, of an Iphone. Yes, guys, I am on an Iphone. Family plan with my son, and Apple employee.
I now have a crazy reason to be absolutely, brazen at work tomorrow. I have been tortured because the day June 29th.
I took off from work to be with my son on this important day at His work place to watch the excitement.
I had no idea that I would be standing in line and get my 15 minutes of fame. Everyone saw me. Ugh! The best part not shown- Me making the cameraman laugh. I was so surprised to have been seen on TV. There were so many boob showing, young women there. I could not believe I was on TV. My iphone is now activated and I have left my first service.
I must say Verison was wonderful to me. Yes, there were dropped calls and emails that showed up a couple of days later.
But that is life.

How things are in Iraq!

Knitting on Shawls

I am still finishing the shawl and coverlet. The crochet edging is taking longer than planned. But both look so beautiful.
I will be taking pictures today and downloading tomorrow. I am happy to be at the end. I will also have photos of the Blanket Coat and all the threads required for this project. Will also have the swatch for the arms in photo and the cast on to the needles for the sleeves.

Organizing Knitting Projects

I finally have the yarn for a New Project. All of the threads are new on the market. I am lucky to have Windsor Button Store.
It is the only place that the owners and staff really go out of their way to see that you have all the correct brands.
They order the yarn for you. It would be so much easier for the WBS to suggest a different 'in store' available yarn.
Even though I am altering the pattern to accommodate my problem with wool- Allergic!
It is a project of memories.
I also, got these great packages with roping that allows them to act as backpacks. I took all of my projects and dated them.
I have stored them in my project closet. This gives me a great deal more room to work.
I am having a great day in the finishing of both shawls.

Knitting Project Coat

I am still working on both shawls. Hope to post pictures later today. I have now most of the materials for my Blanket Coat.
Will have the Gray non-wool lining this Saturday. Have found the most wonderful fleece at $4.44 a yard. Has a great feel.
Will also use the Green soft napped Blanket for extra protection from the wool. May try and make this removable.
Have been looking at stocking patterns. Will be removing the Christmas Tree on Saturday. I will be sad to put it away.
I have truly enjoyed the Fiber Optics with the pre-lites (6 strands) ready to set up and turn on. Hoping the company will make a white one. I really do not like ornaments on this tree.

Last Snow - Boston 2006

Happy New Year!!

Hope everyone is having a Great Start with the New Year! My Brother called last night and invited me to jump on a plane out of Boston, MA - no reservations, and fly to Virginia for First Night. What a kill joy! Then my son called to say, " I am with my friends!" "Have money for a cab: do not wait up!" Two Kill Joys in one night. I knitted them each a Dog House with Kitty Patches on Top to spoil their whole year! He He!!

My Brother's blanket is still being worked on. Making it a little longer. Friends shawl is still under construction. They are gone for the Holidays to warmer weather. Another Kill Joy Group.

I am off for the week and will be finishing projects and adding some photos. Now that I am more comfortable with the new camera given to me by my son in Iraq.
